COMMUNITY

 

We apologize for saying that the mock trial team scored second and fifth place yesterday, We meant to say that they got first and fifth place. We apologize once again for our inaccuracy. South Mock Trial Team 1 consisting of Kari Jahnsen, Terek Rutherford, Tyanna Baker, Garrett Rutherford, Skyler Hektner and Shruti Vadapalli came in 1st place at the State of Alaska mock trial championship this weekend.  Please congratulate them on their hard work.  

 

South mock trial team 2 consisting of Dakota Jones, Quin Fitzpatrick, David Courtright, Michael Kropp, Trevor Bailey and Ian Tremblay came in a respectable 5th place at the state competition.  

 

Best Lawyer award went to Dakota Jones and Best Witness awards went to Ian Tremblay and Garrett Rutherford.  


 

All Credit By Choice grades must be received in the Registrar’s office by May 1, 2015 to be added to graduate semester credits.   Grades must be sent directly from the Institution giving the grade by fax to 907-742-6259 and an official copy mailed.   No copies directly from students are accepted.  No exceptions!   Any questions, contact Wendy Pondolfino, Curriculum Principal.

 

Seniors (Please say seniors, they are the only ones eligible) We are looking for a few good artist to submit artwork for the cover of the graduation program.  If you would like to see examples of past covers or have any questions, please see Ms. Frankenburger in the library.  Submissions are due to Ms. Frankenburger by Monday, April 13th.

 

Student Government Elections will take place on April 10th.  In order to start campaigning you must have a packet turned in by April 2nd to room C-114--no late packets will be accepted.  Packets are available now in room C-114, and all are encouraged to run for office for the 2015-1016 school year!

 

Any student interested in attending the ASD's Construction Career Day should sign up in the curriculum office ASAP.  The event is at the Palmer Fair Grounds on April 22nd. This is a full day event with bus transportation and lunches provided.

 

Seniors (Please say seniors, they are the only ones eligible) Do you enjoy being in the spotlight or dream of singing in front of a large audience? Would you like to perform at graduation by singer the National Anthem or another song?  If so, auditions for graduation singers will be held on April 7th at 2:15 in the choir room, C202. Please sign up in the library with Ms. Frankenburger.  If you have any questions concerning auditioning, please see Ms. Nelson in C202.

 

South's Got Talent is coming on April 22nd! If you are interested in performing and showing off your talent, auditions are going to be next week on Tuesday and Thursday. You can sign up outside of C114 for an audition date and time.

 

Student Government will be selling Prom tickets in front of the elevator at lunch until April 17th. They will be $40 for a single and $75 for a couple. They will be more expensive at the door so get them soon!

 

Looking for a Job?  Come to the KCC Job Fair on April 8th from 8-10am.  Transportation is provided to and from KCC.  Sign up at the curriculum office.  There is a required meeting in the South Library at lunch on Friday, April 3rd at 10:30.  See Mr. Christopherson in H206 or Mrs. Miller in F206 for information.  You should start preparing your resume.
