Hey Freshmen, Come out on Wednesday to show your stuff! We are having a Freshmen Dodgeball Social on Wednesday, right after school until 3:30. Wear your green and add some black and blue to your friends. Come for the prizes, stay for the pride. 

Wednesday is the National Spread the Word to End the Word Day. Please come to the elevator to sign and pledge to stop the use of the R Word. Come buy a shirt for $15 and Wear them Wednesday to show your support!

Applications are Now Available for Senator Murkowski's 2015 High School Internship Program - see your counselor. The deadline is March 12th.

Is it already the second semester of the year? That means applying for scholarships is upon us! Please join us for a presentation/workshop on financial aid and scholarships on Wednesday, March 25th, at 6 pm. In the library. You will learn how to write scholarship essays, put scholarships together, and find out about scholarship opportunities! Rotary South awards scholarships to South Anchorage High School students for many years. They are proud to offer the same opportunity to this year's graduating seniors. Applications are due on March 27th, 2015. See your counselor today to get the application information.

The American Association of Drilling Engineers is offering a scholarship for students pursuing a degree in engineering. The deadline for application is April 19th. See Ms. Hemenway for details. 

CLUBS AND GROUPS

South’s Houses for Haiti club is currently raising money to build homes for the many homeless victims of natural disasters. Homes will have running water, working toilet, and employ the locals to build to help strengthen their economy and create jobs. To give a donation, please stop by any one of these following rooms and place your donation in the jar titled “Houses for Haiti, Merci International”: H112, F112, G210, Ms. Meyer’s room, or Mr. Sims room. There is a very important Mock Trial meeting at lunch on Wednesday in Ms. Seward'd room G109. 

Magic the Gathering Club will meet in the library today.

South Softball Clinics – Find out if softball is the sport for you. Basic Softball Skills Clinics March 2nd – 5th 6:30 – 8:30pm in the Upper Gym $5 fee for the entire clinic. South High Softball Tryouts – Monday 3/16 for Pitchers and Catchers, Wednesday 3/18 thru Friday 3/20 for all players.

Hey Batter, Batter Swing! South Baseball players interested in playing baseball this high school season, please get your Anchorage School District forms turned in to the South Activities office this week and go online to the SABBC.org website to complete other necessary paperwork of the Form 2 and Parental Code of Conduct and also register for Tryouts that will start on March 16th, the Monday right after Spring Break at 3:30 pm at O'Malley Center .
