Happy New Year South! Here is today's news:

Also could you add a notice in the written announcements about the need for volunteers for the school store and to contact Kelley Mills @ kmills@gci.net

Senior parents, please join us for a Financial Aid/ FAFSA Workshop January 8th, 6-8pm in the Library. This is the 4th session of our parent nights! Did you know that the Free Application for Federal Student Aid or FAFSA opens on January 1st for seniors who are thinking of pursuing higher education (college, vocational, technical schools)? This application allows you to qualify for Federal grants and loans, which will assist with their education after high school, and it is also the official application for the Alaska Performance Scholarship. During the FAFSA workshop, we will briefly review the FAFSA application then dive straight to filling out the application! Please bring your family’s 2013 income tax return, your social security number (memorize your number)and if you have a personal laptop please bring it as we have limited computers available. We will also talk about financial aid in general and how to apply yourselves to scholarships! If you have any questions, please see your counselor or contact Bryan Rivera, College and Career Specialist with the Alaska Commission on Postsecondary Education.
