Jeans for teens is going on until February 15! All the jeans donated go to homeless youth in our community. Please donate jeans in the box by the elevator!

The Alaska Travel Industry Association Foundation is offering thousands of dollars in scholarships to Alaska Students pursuing education related to the tourism industry.  All scholarships can be found at:

Seniors- The Anchorage Education Association has three scholarships available to ASD high school graduates.  $2500 for a senior pursuing a career in communications, $2500 for a senior preparing for a career in education and $2500 for a senior preparing for a career in music.

Seniors, if you are interested in applying to Alaska Pacific University, don’t miss the APU all day open house on February 6th.  This is your opportunity to explore classes, meet faculty and students, and tour the campus.  See Mr. Christopherson in H206 for more information.  

The Red Boucher Scholarship supports Alaskans pursuing careers in technology education and/or training.  The deadline is January 30th. See the link below or Ms. Hemenway for more details.

Reminder to all Juniors signed up for the in school SAT on Feb.25, you MUST attend one of the registration sessions this week.  Sessions are: Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday before school (7:05am), at lunch (10:25am) or after school (2:05pm) in either G213 or G214. This is not optional- you must attend one of these sessions.  Please see your counselor if you have questions. The nominations for BP Teacher of Excellence Award Deadline is coming up on January 30.  Fill out the form at bpteachers.com to nominate your teacher.  At least two South teachers have won in the past.  Let's make that three!

Magic the Gathering Club will meet in the library today.

Gay Straight Alliance meets today at lunch in room F111.

Permaculture Club meets tomorrow at lunch in H109. We'll be discussing plants, planning and popcorn.

 

SPORTS


We will be having South Baseball Sign-Ups for the 2015 Season January 29, 2015 in the South Small Gym during the lunch period.  We will have pizza available for the players signing up and Coaches Taylor Nerland and Cliff Butcher will be speaking about the upcoming season.
