COMMUNITY

Jeans for teens is going on until February 15th! All the jeans donated will go to homeless youth in our community. Please donate jeans in the box by the elevator!

KCC registration for third session is now open. We will be enrolling 250 students so the “early bird gets the worm."  Registration forms will be available from counselors and in the curriculum office.

A representative from The Art Institutes and the International Culinary Schools at the Art Institutes will be here in the commons on January 27th, at lunch.  The Art Institutes is a system of over 50 schools throughout North America and the leading educator of students in the fields of Creative and Applied Arts.  Stop by and find out if this is the school for you!

 

The Alaska Travel Industry Association Foundation is offering thousands of dollars in scholarships to Alaska Students pursuing education related to the tourism industry.  All scholarships can be found at:

For any sophomores participating in SOBOSS, you know who you are, their is a practice after school tomorrow in c114. if you have any questions you can stop by c114 during lunch today or tomorrow. if you forgot you signed up for an event or can't remember if you signed up on a team, look for the signup sheet during lunch.

 

SPORTS

We will be having South Baseball Sign-Ups for the 2015 Season January 29, 2015 in the South Small Gym during the lunch period.  We will have pizza available for the players signing up and Coaches Taylor Nerland and Cliff Butcher will be speaking about the upcoming season.

Congratulations to the Varsity Girls Basketball team for beating the Palmer Moose: South 53, Palmer 45; Sabrina Ungaro racked up 23 points and five steals Saturday to boost South past Palmer in a non conference girls basketball game in Palmer. Emma Andersen added nine points for the Wolverines. And Congratulations are also in order the JV Lady Wolverines for beating the Lady Eagles of West High!

There will be a South Boys Soccer Booster Club meeting on Wednesday, January 28, 6:30-8 pm, at South in room B208. All parents are encouraged to attend.
