There is an important sophomore meeting in the auditeria during lunch this thursday. It will be a quick informational meeting and we will have free pizza!

KCC registration for third session is now open. Click on the following link to sign up students. We will be enrolling 250 students so the “early bird gets the worm." Registration forms will be available from counselors and in the curriculum office.

COMMUNITY

Jeans for teens is going on until February 15! All the jeans donated go to homeless youth in our community. Please donate jeans in the box by the elevator!

Red Cross Club is hosting a drive to collect Emergency Supplies for South students to keep in their cars. The supplies they are collecting are granola bars, cans, Anchorage area maps, bottled water, flashlights, batteries, soap, hand sanitizer, First Aid supplies and thermal blankets. There will be a box in the commons for supplies.

INDIVIDUAL

The Alaska Travel Industry Association Foundation is offering thousands of dollars in scholarships to Alaska Students pursuing education related to the tourism industry. All scholarships can be found at: http://www.alaskatia.org/foundation/scholarships

f you are a current student and have requested transcripts, please pick them up in the South Curriculum Office. Transcripts are not mailed out for current students and we have many that have been requested but not picked up. Transcripts are ready for pickup within 24 hours of the request being submitted either online or in person. Transcripts cannot be processed the same day as there are too many requests this time of year. Please also remember to request only what you will use. Students doing the Common Applications or Sendedu through their counselor do not need to send paper transcripts also as an official transcript is sent with the Common Applications and to Sendedu. Please plan ahead and pickup all requested transcripts. Only graduate transcripts are mailed out! Any student currently attending South High on a zone exception does NOT need to reapply! Once you are attending your zone exception is good for your high school years. Please do not reapply every year!
